The Colorful Colorado Show runs from June 5-29 with the show reception June 7th from 1-4pm. Celebrating the diversity of this state and the many ways we find color in Color-ado. Whether it is in the foliage, the rocks, mountains, flowers or the many people who inhabit Colorado, the artists all have their own lens and style. During the reception, we will be offering small bird houses to paint for free, come join us, bring your family.
And this month selecting the Community Award is Deb Adams from Custer County Tourism, we so appreciate her and all her work for Westcliffe! Laura Hart was our Mystery Judge and after much consternation, chose Jeanene Parker's Full on Fall oil painting! And Deb Adams (without looking at any names on the tags) chose her favorite~ Colorful Colorado, a watercolor painted expressly for this show by Julie Hutslar. |

JJ Steele has been entertaining folks for years with cowboy tales, poetry and song and will put you in touch with visions of the West. Sponsoring these popular local Colorado/Western entertainers are the Silverwest Airport Board themselves, what a generous and thoughtful gift! Thank you Clyde, Bryan, Bob, JC, Kimberly, Al, Eric, Mike and Martin!! Be sure and mark your calendar for the Silverwest Air Fest, August 16 at the airport. You'll find all manner of aviation enjoyment, food and even aviation art! |
FEATURED ARTIST
Marley Seifert from Leadville, a young and vivacious hiker and mountain lover is coming to show her works during the reception, June 7th. You will want to meet her!! Don't miss this one day opportunity!!! She says, when she's not creating, you’ll find her outside basking in everything the outdoors has to offer. No wonder she has painted ALL of Colorado's 14ers!! "Art is something we are all connected to and surrounds us everyday. It can take us to a moment, feeling, or memory - I want to capture those moments we have all experienced. Whether that moment be an unforgettable mountain bike ride, camping under the stars, or watching the alpenglow hit the mountains." |
Marley was a huge hit, she was a joy to connect with and even shared her unique style as she demoed for the visitors. She has left a number of her pieces, postcards, stickers and books here at the front glass case of the gallery in case you missed her. |
